GIVING SOMETHING BACK
Community Corner...Whenever The Art Shop holds a one-man show, we always look for ways to tie-in the event with a charity that will involve and benefit the community. Over the years, The Art Shop has conducted fund-raisers for the Victory Junction Camp, American Cancer Society, Animal Foster and Rescue Program and National Public Radio's local affiliate WFDD. In October of 2006, The North Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association was our beneficiary of a fund-raiser during the show by Sam Park.
GREENSBORO CHILDREN'S MUSEUM - With the proceeds raised at our
reception for internationally renowned sculptor Leon Bronstein, The Art Shop was able to commission a musical bench which was placed outside of the Children's Museum.
VICTORY JUNCTION GANG CAMP FUNDRAISER
The Art Shop and the Greensboro Merchants Association (GMA) partnered to create an original watercolor painting featuring a collage of scenes from Victory Junction Gang Camp along with likenesses of Kyle, Patty and Adam Petty.

The original painting was given to Kyle and Patty Petty by The Art Shop at the annual Greensboro Merchant's Association dinner February 22nd 2005. Signed and numbered prints are 18 x 27 and signed by Kyle Petty. 100% of the purchase price of $100.00 was given to the Randolph County-based camp for chronically-ill children. Prints are available for sale at The Art Shop and 100% of those proceeds will also go to the
camp.
When famed artist Pino came to The Art Shop for a one-man show, The Art Shop raised over $4500.00 for the American Cancer Society by donating a
framed limited edition work by Pino. Shown here are the lucky winners Myra and Gene Armstrong with Gallery owner Lenny Dolin and Kate Sullivan from the American Cancer Society. The painting was valued at $4000.00.

Shown here are volunteers from the Guilford County Animal Rescue and Foster Program. The Art Shop raised over $1000.00 for the animal shelter during the visit of the Frogman, Tim Cotteril in Dec. 2005.
Over the years, The Art Shop has been the proud recipient of many awards for their participation in community organizations and charitable efforts. In 2003, the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce recognized owner Lenny Dolin as Small Business Person of the year.
Owners Lenny and Arlene Dolin are pleased to have the opportunity to help make a difference in the community with their participation in these wonderful charity events. It's their way of expressing gratitude for the area's support of The Art Shop for 108 years.
